Teen Injured in Hayride Accident in Smithfield, RI

Smithfield, RI — A 14-year-old girl was injured in a hayride accident at around 8 o'clock in the evening at Seven Cedars Farm.

According to reports, the 14-year-old was working as a scare actor for the Seven Cedars Haunted Hayride when the incident occured.

The cause of the accident is still unknown. For reasons yet to be discovered, the teen ended up trapped underneath the hayride trailer which was carrying 20-30 guests through the attraction. Bystanders worked together to lift the trailer off of the girl while emergency medical services were still on the way.

Authorities state that the girl suffered an injury to her leg, in addition to internal injuries. She was transported to a local children's hospital for immediate care. The accident is still under an active investigation. The current condition of the teenaged victim has not been reported on. No additional details are available at this time.
