Bernardo Rivera Killed in Truck Accident in Amarillo, TX

Amarillo, TX — October 26, 2023, Bernard Rivera was killed in a truck accident at around 6:35 in the evening along South Loop 335.

Reports indicate that Bernardo Rivera—a 56-year-old man from Cicero, Illinois—was traveling in a northbound Ford Explorer on South Loop 335 just south of C.R. 58 when the accident occurred.

For unknown reasons, the Ford strayed out of the northbound lanes and across into the southbound lanes and into oncoming traffic, resulting in a head-on collision with a semi-truck hauling a load of tires. The semi-truck reportedly steered off the right side of the road and into a ditch where it burst into flames.

Authorities state that Rivera was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. No other injuries were reported in connection with the incident. The accident is still under investigation; no further details are available at this time.
