Roland Rodriguez III Injured in Truck Accident in Val Verde County, TX

Val Verde County, TX — October 5, 2023, Roland Rodriguez III was injured as the result of a semi-truck accident before midnight on U.S. Highway 90.

Details released by authorities put the crash at around 11:19 p.m. along U.S. 90 in the area of Loop 79.

According to officials, 39-year-old Roland Rodriguez III was in a Jeep Grand Cherokee going westbound along the highway. At Loop 79, authorities say an oncoming tractor-trailer failed to yield making a left-hand turn, and it struck Rodriguez's vehicle, sending it off-road.

Due to the collision, Rodriguez sustained injuries described as incapacitating. There were no other confirmed injuries. Authorities recommended a citation for failure to yield against the truck driver, but it's unclear if any other citations or charges have since been filed.
