3 Killed, 1 Injured in Truck Accident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Worcester Township, PA

UPDATE (October 26, 2023): The names of the people who were killed as a result of the accident have been released and are as follows: 63-year old William Ramos of Perth Amboy, NJ, 52-year-old Suzette Achey of Seaford, DE, and 57-year old James Achey, also of Seaford, DE. The accident is still under active investigation and no additional details are available at this time.

Worcester Township, PA — October 21, 2023, three people were killed and one person was injured as a result of a truck accident at about 11 a.m. on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

According to reports, a sedan had suffered a flat tire and pulled into the righthand lane of traffic. This forced the vehicle behind it—a work van—to break in order to avoid a collision.

That was when a semi-truck—which had been hauling jet fuel—collided with both vehicles and caused a major fire to break out at the crash scene.

Authorities state that the driver of the semi-truck and the driver and passenger of the work van were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the sedan was transferred to a local medical facility for treatment of injuries incurred during the incident. Their condition is currently unknown. The identities of the victims have yet to be released to the public. The accident is still under investigation and no further details are available at this time.
