Laverne P. Brooks Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident in Columbus, GA

Columbus, GA — October 14, 2023, Laverne P. Brooks was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Chambers County Road 48 near Chambers County Road 44 in Columbus, GA.

Authorities indicate that on October 14, a fatal crash occurred when two vehicles collided in Columbus for unknown reasons. According to reports, the crash happened around 8:14 in the morning.

Investigators say a Honda Civic was traveling along Chambers County Road 48 when it collided head-on with a tractor-trailer. The cause of the crash has not been released at this time.

Officials confirmed the Honda driver, Laverne P. Brooks, 61, suffered fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The collision remains under investigation.
