Juan Alfredo Arvizu, 1 Injured in 18-wheeler Accident in Refugio County, TX

Refugio County, TX — September 21, 2023, Juan Alfredo Arvizu and another were injured after an 18-wheeler accident at 6:38 p.m. along U.S. Highway 77.

Authorities said in preliminary statements that the crash occurred along northbound lanes of the highway near the East Houston Street intersection.

According to officials, 28-year-old Juan Arvizu and a 29-year-old woman were in a Toyota Corolla traveling along the highway. For unconfirmed reasons, it appears the Corolla crashed into the back of an 18-wheeler. This caused the Corolla to careen off the left side of the road.

Both Arvizu and the passenger in the Toyota had injuries described as incapacitating. There did not appear to be any other injuries resulting from the crash. Right now, authorities have yet to release further information.
