Anthony Jeffrey Avila Lopez Killed, Santos O Rodriguez Bermudez Injured in Truck Accident in Bowie, MD

Bowie, MD — October 10, 2023, Anthony Jeffrey Avila Lopez was killed, and Santos O Rodriguez Bermudez was injured in a truck crash on Route 301 South in Prince George's County, Bowie, MD.

Authorities indicate that on October 11, a fatal accident occurred when two vehicles collided in Bowie for unknown reasons. Police say a dump truck was rear-ended by a Honda Civic while traveling along Route 301 South near Ball Park Road. The cause of the crash has not been released, and few details are available at this time.

Officials confirmed that the Honda driver, 24-year-old Anthony Jeffrey Avila Lopez, suffered fatal injuries. The dump truck driver, 40-year-old Santos O Rodriguez Bermudez, reportedly sustained injuries and was taken to an area hospital. The extent of the injuries is unknown. No other injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
