One Killed, One Injured in Multi-Vehicle Accident near National City, CA

National City, CA — October 5, 2023, one was killed, and one was injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 between State Road 54 and Mile of Cars Way, near National City, CA.

Authorities indicate that on October 5, a fatal accident occurred when several vehicles collided near National City. According to reports, the crash happened sometime after 2:30 in the morning.

Investigators say a Nissan, Honda Accord and Jeep Liberty collided along Interstate 5 for unknown reasons. The impact reportedly caused a Jeep Patriot to hit the Honda Accord, throwing the driver from the vehicle. Police have not released the cause of the crash, and few details are available at this time.

Officials confirmed that the Honda driver, whose name has not been released, suffered fatal injuries. The Jeep Patriot driver reportedly sustained moderate injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Police stated that one of the vehicle drivers left the accident scene, but this has not been confirmed. No further information is currently available.
