Hyrum Edward Lee Ratcliff Injured in Truck Accident in Jasper County, TX

Jasper County, TX — September 19, 2023, Hyrum Ratcliff sustained injuries due to a commercial truck accident at around 4:05 a.m. on U.S. Highway 96.

Initial details about the crash indicate that it happened near the intersection of U.S. 96 and County Road 594.

According to public statements on the accident, 21-year-old Hyrum Ratcliff was the driver of a Toyota Corolla going southbound on the highway. The Toyota reportedly crashed into the back end of a commercial which police say was also going southbound. Ratcliff's vehicle then ran off-road where it crashed into a house.

As a result of the collision, Ratcliff sustained reportedly incapacitating injuries. There did not appear to be any other injuries resulting from the crash. Currently, the exact cause of the accident can't be confirmed.
