According to current statements, a 21-year-okld Jenison man was in a Pontiac traveling along the eastbound lanes of Chicago Drive, a divided roadway. Up ahead, it appears a semi-truck was making what local outlets refer to as a "Michigan Left" turn. Looking at information provided by Michigan.gov, this appears to involve roads where instead of turning left directly onto a street, drivers are directed to a crossover where they make a u-turn back to their intended destination. While making such a turn, it appears the truck entered the path of the Pontiac, resulting in a collision.

Due to the collision, the Pontiac driver had injuries which reportedly left him in critical condition. There do not appear to be any other confirmed injuries. Right now, there's no indication of pending charges or citations. Investigations are ongoing.
