51-Year-Old Injured in Multi-Truck Accident in Reeves County, TX

Reeves County, TX — September 5, 2023, a 51-year-old truck driver was injured in a multi-truck accident around 7:54 p.m. on I-10 in Reeves County.

Officials report the victim's 2016 Freightliner semi-truck was heading northwest on I-10 when it allegedly rear-ended a 2016 Kenworth tractor-trailer. The Kenworth had reportedly begun to slow due to traffic, and the victim reportedly told authorities that due to the sun and the road's bend, he was unable to see the Kenworth's brakes or that it was slowing down.

The initial impact reportedly caused the victim's 2016 Freightliner to veer toward its driver's side and collide with a 2020 Freightliner big rig.

The 51-year-old driver purportedly suffered serious injuries in the accident. No other injuries were reported.
