Jose Villatoro Killed in Tractor-Trailer Accident in Pahokee, FL

Pahokee, FL — October 8, 2023, Jose Villatoro was killed in an accident involving a tractor-trailer and a palm tree on Highway 98 in Pahokee, FL.

Authorities indicate that on October 8, a fatal accident occurred when a tractor-trailer crashed into three palm trees for unknown reasons. According to reports, the crash happened around 4:37 in the afternoon.

Investigators say the tractor-trailer was traveling along Highway 98 when it suddenly veered off the road and crashed into a palm tree. Sources say the truck then hit two more palm trees, coming to rest at the third one. Police say the impact caused the third tree to fall onto the truck, trapping the driver.

Officials confirmed that the tractor-trailer driver, Jose Villatoro, 80, was taken to an area hospital and did not survive. Police have not released the cause of the accident at this time.

No other injuries were reported.
