Hendry Nunez Killed in Wrong-Way Semi-Truck Accident on I-83 in York, PA

UPDATE (October 11, 2023): Authorities identified the man killed in the crash as 47-year-old Hendry Nunez. While officials added that there was construction in the area at the time of the accident, they have not said if that contributed at all to the truck allegedly getting on the wrong side of the road.

York, PA — October 9, 2023, a driver was killed as the result of a wrong-way semi-truck accident at around 3:00 a.m. on I-83.

According to preliminary information released about the crash, it took place on the southbound lanes of the interstate in the area of the Route 30 and Route 462 exits.

Reports say that officials believe an 18-wheeler somehow got onto the wrong side of the interstate, causing it to travel northbound along southbound lanes. In doing so, the truck ended up colliding head-on with a southbound car.

As a result of the collision, the driver of the car succumbed to fatal injuries. They have not been publicly identified at this time. It's unclear if anyone else was injured. Right now, possible charges are unclear pending investigations.
