Calera, AL — October 6, 2023, Tracy Dyck was killed, and students were injured in a school bus-car crash on Smokey Road in Shelby County, Calera, AL.

Authorities indicate that on October 6, a fatal crash occurred when a school bus and a vehicle collided in Shelby County for unknown reasons. According to reports, the crash happened around 3:30 in the afternoon.

Investigators say the school bus and vehicle collided head-on on Smokey Road near the Stone Creek subdivision. Police have not released the cause of the crash, and few details are available at this time.

Officials confirmed the vehicle driver, Tracy Dyck, 62, suffered fatal injuries. Police say a few students on board the school bus suffered minor injuries. No additional details are currently available.
