Julie Sears, Gary Sears, Joan Sears Killed, One Injured in Semi-Truck Accident near Alliance, NE

Alliance, NE — October 3, 2023, Julie Sears, Gary Sears, and Joan Sears were killed, and one was injured in a semi-truck crash on Highway 2 near Alliance, NE.

Authorities indicate that on October 3, a fatal accident occurred when a semi-truck and a vehicle collided near Alliance for unknown reasons. According to reports, the crash happened sometime in the morning.

Investigators say a Subaru was traveling along Highway 2 when it allegedly went over the center lane line into opposing traffic. Police stated that the Subaru collided head-on with an oncoming semi-truck, killing three people and injuring one other.

Officials confirmed that the Subaru driver, Julie Sears, 57, and two passengers, Gary Sears and Joan Sears, suffered fatal injuries. The semi-truck driver reportedly sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

No other injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
