Dejanae Buchanan Killed, 2 Injured in Truck Accident in Garland, TX

Garland, TX — September 14, 2023, Dejanae Buchanan was killed and two were injured after an 18-wheeler accident at 1:43 a.m. on Garland Avenue.

According to public information from authorities, the incident happened in the area of the South Garland Avenue and Leon Road intersection.

Details suggest that 22-year-old Dejanae Buchanan was a passenger in a Chrysler 200 which was going westbound along Leon Road. At the intersection, the Chrysler was hit by an 18-wheeler traveling southbound on Garland Ave.

Due to this collision, Buchanan reportedly succumbed to fatal injuries. An 18-year-old in the Chrysler reportedly had incapacitating injuries while a 5-year-old's injuries were apparently non-incapacitating. The truck driver had no reported injuries.

Currently, the factors surrounding the crash have not been confirmed through further investigation.
