One Killed in 18-wheeler Accident on U.S. 25 in Burke County, GA

Burke County, GA — October 4, 2023, one person was killed following an 18-wheeler accident early Wednesday along U.S. Highway 25.

Details about the crash given by Georgia State Troopers indicate the accident happened at approximately 6:40 a.m. in the area of the U.S. Highway 25 and Hadden Pond Road intersection.

According to officials, a person was in a Cadillac which was going northbound along U.S. 25. Up ahead, authorities say that there was an 18-wheeler "stopped across both northbound lanes." The reason for the truck being stopped was not made clear. While there, the Cadillac crashed into the side of the 18-wheeler.

Due to the collision, the driver of the Cadillac succumbed to fatal injuries. There did not appear to be any other injured parties. Authorities have not yet publicly identified the victim. Investigations are ongoing.
