According to officials, 68-year-old Leilani Childers and 59-year-old Johnny Childers were in a Toyota Highlander traveling on north I-35. Two lanes over, authorities say that a Hino truck made an unsafe lane change, causing it to crash into a Toyota Camry to the right of Leilani and Johnny Childers' vehicle. This caused the Camry to hit the Highlander, and the Highlander lost control and hit the side barrier, bouncing back into traffic lanes where the Hino truck hit it.

As a result of the crash, Leilani Childers had injuries said to be incapacitating. Johnny Childers's injuries were described as non-incapacitating. No other injuries were reported. Right now, further information about the accident cannot be confirmed.
