Dorothy Pleasant Killed in 18-wheeler Accident in Nacogdoches County, TX

Nacogdoches County, TX — September 16, 2023, Dorothy Pleasant was killed following an 18-wheeler accident at around midnight along U.S. Highway 59.

Authorities said in preliminary statements that the crash happened at approximately 12:35 a.m. in the area of U.S. 59 and County Road 267.

Investigators said that 56-year-old Dorothy Pleasant was in a Chevy HHR going along the northbound lanes of the highway. A tractor-trailer was reportedly going southbound. For reasons which can't be confirmed right now, the Chevy lost control. This led to it going across the median and into southbound lanes where it collided with the 18-wheeler.

As a result of the collision, Pleasant sustained fatal injuries. It does not appear that the truck driver had any injuries. Authorities have not mentioned any potential mechanical issues, tire blowouts, or road conditions which may have contributed to the crash. No further information is available at this time.
