UPDATE (October 3, 2023): Additional details released by authorities identified the two killed in the crash as 91-year-old Chester Smith and 80-year-old Connie Smith. The circumstances leading up to the crash are still under investigation.

Temple, TX — September 28, 2023, two people were killed, and two were injured in a vehicle crash on Highway 317 and Little Mexico Road in Temple, TX.

Authorities indicate that on September 28, a fatal crash occurred when two vehicles collided in Temple for unknown reasons. According to reports, the crash happened at approximately 6:15 in the evening on Highway 317 and Little Mexico Road. Police have not released the cause of the crash, and few details are available at this time.

Officials confirmed that two people, whose names have not been released, suffered fatal injuries. Two others reportedly sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital for medical attention. No further information is currently available.

The investigation is ongoing.
