Man Injured in Truck Accident on Somerton Avenue in Yuma County, AZ

Yuma County, AZ — September 26, 2023, a man sustained injuries following a commercial truck accident at around 4:50 a.m. along South Somerton Avenue.

Authorities with the Yuma County Sheriff's Office reported that the incident took place off the corner of South Somerton Avenue and W. County 13th Street, north of Somerton.

According to current statements, a 63-year-old man was in a Ford F-150 going northbound along Somerton. Ahead, authorities allege that a semi-truck failed to yield coming out of a private drive, resulting in the two vehicles colliding with one another.

As a result of the collision, the 63-year-old Ford driver sustained apparently serious injuries and had to be airlifted from the scene. There were no other reported injuries. Authorities have said only that they do not suspect alcohol. Other factors are still under investigation.
