Van Zandt County, TX — September 23, 2023, Roy Lewis Woods was killed, and Karla Kay Coyle was injured in a motorcycle-truck crash on Farm-to-Market Road 279 in Van Zandt, TX.

Authorities indicate that on September 23, a fatal accident occurred when a motorcycle and a truck collided in Van Zandt County for unknown reasons. Investigators say the motorcycle was traveling west of Farm-to-Market Road 279 when the crash happened. The motorcyclist reportedly collided with an eastbound truck while attempting to navigate a curve in the road.

Officials confirmed that the motorcyclist, Roy Lewis Woods, 58, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The truck driver, 63-year-old Karla Kay Cole, reportedly sustained non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
