Scottie Lijon Killed, 3 Injured in Alleged DWI Accident on O’Connor Road in San Antonio, TX

UPDATE (October 16, 2023): Further details from authorities listed at least 5 people as having injuries, and Deysey Garza Mendoza, the driver of a Ford F-150 involved in the crash, was left in an unspecified condition. Details are still under investigation at this time.

UPDATE (September 29, 2023): Officials identified the person killed in the accident as Scottie Lijon. Right now, additional details about the accident remain unconfirmed as investigations continue.

San Antonio, TX — September 24, 2023, one person was killed and three were injured following an alleged DWI accident at around 2:25 a.m. on O'Connor Road.

Authorities said in preliminary statements that the crash occurred in the area of O'Connor Road and Wurzbach Parkway.

According to officials, a car and a pickup were traveling in opposite directions when a crossover led to the vehicles colliding head-on. This led to the truck and the car overturning off-road. There appeared to be at least one other vehicle involved in the crash, as well.

One person from the car reportedly succumbed to fatal injuries as a result of the collision. Two others had reportedly non-life-threatening injuries. One person from the pickup also had apparently non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say there was a DWI arrest on the scene following sobriety tests. Right now, they have not confirmed if alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash. No further information is available at this time.
