Trucker Injured in 18-wheeler Accident on Highway 255 in Webb County, TX

Webb County, TX — July 8, 2023, a truck driver was injured following a dual 18-wheeler accident at around 11:01 a.m. along Highway 255.

Authorities said in their statements that the crash happened at the intersection of Highway 255 and F.M. 3338.

According to currently public information, the crash involved a 53-year-old man driving a Peterbilt semi-trailer eastbound along the highway. At the F.M. 3338 intersection, it appears a southbound Freightliner 18-wheeler failed to yield, resulting in the two trucks collided.

Due to the crash, the driver of the Peterbilt sustained reportedly incapacitating injuries. There did not appear to be any other injuries. Authorities said there would be recommendations for the Freightliner driver to be charged for failure to yield. No further information is available at this time.
