Jason Phillips Injured in Car Accident in Buda, TX

Hays County, TX — August 27, 2023, Jason Phillips was injured and Christopher Maldonado may have been hurt in a car accident at 10:35 p.m. on F.M. 2770.

Preliminary statements about the accident say that it took place in the area of the F.M. 2770 and Robert S. Light Boulevard intersection.

According to officials, 35-year-old Jason Phillips was in a Ford Ranger said to be going northbound along F.M. 2770. 32-year-old Christopher Maldonado was said to be the driver of a Chevy Chevelle traveling southbound. For reasons unclear at this time, the Ford Ranger lost control. This led to it going into the southbound lane where it crashed with the Chevelle, sending both vehicles off-road.

Statements from authorities say that Phillips had incapacitating injuries as a result of the accident. Maldonado's condition was not confirmed. Currently, no further information about the factors contributing to the crash can be confirmed without further investigations.
