Maribel Lopez Killed in Pedestrian-Truck Accident on I-45 in Corsicana, TX

Corsicana, TX — August 29, 2023, Maribel Lopez was killed in a commercial truck accident around 3:55 a.m. on I-45, south of Phife Ln. in Houston.

According to officials, the victim was walking south in the 3000 block of I-45 when she was struck by a southbound Freightliner semi-tractor.

Maribel Lopez, 28 from Corsicana, was purportedly air-lifted to a hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

Authorities have not released the cause of the crash at this time.
