Woman Killed in Truck Tire Accident on Interstate 70 in Indianapolis, IN

Indianapolis, IN — September 11, 2023, a woman was killed in a truck tire accident on Interstate 70 outside of downtown Indianapolis, IN.

Authorities indicate that on September 11, a fatal accident occurred when a driver was struck by a tire in Indianapolis. According to reports, the accident happened at approximately 8:00 in the morning.

Investigators say a vehicle was traveling along Interstate 70 when it was suddenly hit by a stray tire dislodged from an eastbound pickup truck. Police say the tire went over the median and struck the vehicle, causing the windshield to break. The car reportedly drove off the road and overturned.

Officials confirmed the vehicle driver, a woman whose name has not been released, was killed in the accident. No other injuries were reported.

Police are still investigating.
