Oscar Cabrera Lopez Injured in Alleged Hit-and-run Accident in Houston, TX

Houston, TX — July 25, 2023, Oscar Cabrera Lopez was injured after an alleged hit-and-run accident at around 1:41 a.m. along Harwin Drive.

Harris County officials released details about the accident, which they say happened along Harwin just off the Westpark Tollway and Sam Houston interchange.

According to investigators, it appears that Oscar Cabrera Lopez was on a motorcycle traveling along westbound Harwin Drive. At the intersection with Sam Houston Parkway, details suggest another driver failed to stop at the light and crashed into Cabrera Lopez, throwing him from the motorcycle. That other driver then allegedly left the scene.

Cabrera Lopez sustained what were called serious bodily injuries due to the collision. Authorities say they were contacted by the owner of the vehicle that allegedly hit Cabrera Lopez, and they ultimately identified the driver they believe to have been involved in the accident. There appears to be a pending charge for failure to stop and render aid against that driver.

No further information can be confirmed at this time.
