Cody Walthius Killed, Derrek Martin Injured in Truck Accident near Rolette, ND

Rolette, ND — September 15, 2023, Cody Walthius was killed, and Derrek Martin was injured in a truck collision at 89th Street Northeast and County Road 15 near Rolette, ND.

Authorities say that on September 15, a fatal accident occurred when a pickup truck and a semi-truck collided near Rolette for unknown reasons. Investigators say the pickup was traveling east along 89th Street Northeast, and the semi was heading south on County Road 15. Authorities say the two vehicles collided in the intersection.

Officials confirmed the pickup driver, 30-year-old Cody Walthius, was thrown from the vehicle upon impact and did not survive. The semi-truck driver, Derrek Martin, 25, sustained serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital.

Police are investigating the events that led to the crash.
