Multiple Injured in Semi-Truck Accident on I-95 in Philadelphia, PA

Philadelphia, PA — September 14, 2023, multiple people were injured following a semi-truck accident at around 1:00 p.m. along the Delaware Expressway.

According to initial statements from the Pennsylvania State Police, the incident occurred on southbound lanes of the interstate near Allegheny Avenue in the Port Richmond area.

Officials said in reports that a semi-truck traveling along northbound I-95 allegedly made an unsafe lane change. Doing so, the truck crashed with another, wedging it beneath the truck until the semi hit a concrete barrier. Part of the semi then reportedly came loose from the trailer and landed on a third vehicle.

Due to the series of events, two people from the first vehicle hit by the truck and one person from the second were taken to area hospitals. Their conditions were not specified. Investigations at this time have yet to confirm additional details surrounding the crash.
