Elvira Castro Injured in Flea Market Accident in Laredo, TX

Laredo, TX — June 12, 2023, Elvira Castro was injured in an auto accident at a flea market in Laredo, TX.

Authorities indicate that on June 12, an accident occurred when a woman at a flea market was struck by a truck in Laredo for unknown reasons. Police say a truck was backing into a parking space when the woman was struck and dragged under the vehicle.

Investigators say the victim, 78-year-old Elvira Castro, got lodged beneath the truck and was rescued by a tow driver who used his truck to lift the vehicle from her body. Officials say Castro suffered life-threatening injuries in the accident and is in critical condition. No additional information has been released at this time.

Authorities are investigating the accident. No other injuries were reported.
