Children Injured in Car Accident on U.S. 77 in McLennan County, TX

McLennan County, TX — September 1, 2023, children were injured as the result of a single-vehicle car accident that happened at around midnight along U.S. 77.

Preliminary details released by authorities says that the incident took place at approximately 12:09 a.m. along U.S. Highway 77 near mile marker 386.

According to currently public information, it appears that a Chevy Silverado was traveling southbound along the highway. Somehow, it lost control and ran off the left side of the road. There, the pickup struck multiple objects before ultimately overturning repeatedly.

Due to the accident, an 8-year-old child in the Chevy had incapacitating injuries. A 4-year-old was left in unspecified condition, as was the driver of the vehicle. Authorities mentioned in their statements the possibility of alcohol contributing to the crash, though nothing has been confirmed at this time.
