William Leslie Cook, 1 Injured in Car Accident in Bowie County, TX

Bowie County, TX — August 5, 2023, William Leslie Cook and one other were injured following a two-vehicle accident at 3:15 p.m. along Richmond Road.

Authorities said that the crash took place along Richmond Road/F.M. 559 near the County Road 2311 intersection.

According to currently available information, 62-year-old William Leslie Cook was in a Ford Transit van that was going northbound along Richmond. Approaching a curve in the road, authorities say that an oncoming Ford Expedition lost control and careened into northbound lanes. Doing so, it crashed head-on with Cook's van.

Due to the collision, Cook had apparently incapacitating injuries. The other driver was said to have sustained non-incapacitating. At this time, authorities claim that the Expedition driver had been drinking. It appears charges were recommended, but official charges can't be confirmed at this time.
