Sarah Barkhuizen, Aubrie Engelmann Injured in Car Accident in Austin, TX

Austin, TX — July 29, 2023, Sarah Barkuizen and Aubrie Englemann were injured following a car accident at approximately 2:43 a.m. on F.M. 2222.

Authorities said in their statements that the accident happened along eastbound lanes of F.M. 2222 near the intersection of Sitio Del Rio Boulevard.

According to officials, 22-year-old Sarah Barkuizen was in an eastbound Ford Escape. Aubrie Engelmann, also 22, was reportedly in a westbound Honda Civic. Due to events which cannot be confirmed at this time, the vehicles ended up colliding head-on with each other.

Due to this collision, Barkuizen had reportedly non-incapacitating injuries. Engelmann's injuries were described as incapacitating. No other injuries were reported. At this time, no further information is available.
