One Injured in Car Accident on I-10 in El Paso County, TX

El Paso County, TX — September 8, 2023, one person was injured in a motor vehicle accident around 5:30 a.m. on Interstate 10 in El Paso County.

Sources report the victim was traveling east on I-10 near the mile-marker 3 and Vinton, TX when their vehicle allegedly collided with a sheriff's police car.

The driver reportedly suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital. The police officer was reportedly outside of their vehicle, investigating a separate single-vehicle crash, and was uninjured.

New sources report both of these accidents occurred near a construction zone that reduces the eastbound side of the highway to a single lane, but officials have not said if this was a factor in the crashes. Additionally, there are no reports detailing if the police vehicle was in a lane of traffic or if the crash occurred on the highway's shoulder.
