Jasmine Castruita, 1 Injured in Alleged Drunk Driver Accident in El Paso, TX

El Paso, TX — July 26, 2023, Jasmine Castruita and another were injured following an alleged drunk driver accident at around 9:09 p.m. along Interstate 10.

Authorities said in preliminary statements that the incident took place in the area of Octavia Street along westbound lanes of the interstate.

According to officials, 22-year-old Jasmine Castruita and a 30-year-old man were in a Mitsubishi Lancer going along I-10. They reportedly came to a stop in a line of traffic. While there, authorities say that a Dodge Dakota did not slow down in time, crashing into the Mitsubishi. This led to a chain reaction with at least one other vehicle.

Details say that Castruita and the man in the Mitsubishi had apparently incapacitating injuries. There were no other confirmed injuries. Authorities indicate they arrested the driver of the Dodge for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. Currently, no further information can be confirmed.
