Mulzer Employee Killed in Dump Truck Accident in Crawford County, IN

Crawford County, IN — September 12, 2023, a Mulzer Crushed Stone Inc. employee was killed in a dump truck accident around 2 p.m. in Crawford County.

Officials report a Mulzer Crushed Stone Inc. dump truck was working in a rock quarry when it overturned into a pit that was purportedly several feet deep and filled with water. The dump truck reportedly weighed several tons and sank about 20 to 30 feet deep upside down.

The employee's body was recovered by a diving team on Wednesday, September 13, just before 12 p.m.

The employee’s identity has not yet been released.

This horrific crash has led several people to raise questions about the safety standards and conditions in the quarry.

Authorities have not released any other details at this time.
