Susannah Cheyenne Truax, Logan Gibson Killed, 1 Injured in Truck Accident on U.S. 24 in Allen County, IN

UPDATE (September 19, 2023): County officials identified the victims killed in the accident as 27-year-old Susannah Cheyenne Truax and 25-year-old Logan Gibson

Allen County, IN — September 14, 2023, two people were killed and one person was injured following a truck accident at around 1:30 p.m. on U.S. 24.

Preliminary statements about the crash released by the Allen County Sheriff's Department and the Indiana Department of Transportation indicate that the incident took place in the area of the U.S. Highway 24 and Interstate 469 interchange.

According to officials, a pickup pulling a trailer was going along westbound lanes of the highway. From eastbound lanes, it appears a semi-trailer somehow lost control, careened across the grassy median, then crashed into the pickup. A third vehicle was also involved, authorities said.

As a result of the collision, two people in the pickup sustained fatal injuries. Those victims have not yet been publicly identified. The driver of the semi truck was taken to a hospital with injuries described as serious. It appears there were no other injuries.

At this time, the exact cause of the crash remains unclear.
