54-Year-Old Injured in Chain Reaction Accident on I-20 E. in Fort Worth, TX

Fort Worth, TX — August 14, 2023, one person was injured in a five-vehicle chain reaction crash around 5:47 p.m. on I-20 E. in Fort Worth.

Officials report the victim's Hyundai Elantra was heading east in heavy traffic and slowed down in that traffic when her sedan was reportedly rear-ended by an International tractor-trailer. The impact reportedly forced her Elantra forward into the back of a red pickup truck.

The victim purportedly maneuvered her car into the left shoulder of the highway and the red pickup drove away. The tractor-trailer allegedly reversed on the highway in an attempt to maneuver behind the victim's Elantra when it backed into a Nissan Pathfinder.

The driver of the Elantra was purportedly transported to a hospital with serious injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Police alleged that a contributing factor to the crash was that the Elantra "changed lanes when unsafe," but they released no further details. There is no word if the tractor-trailer driver will be cited.
