Angelo V. Turner Killed in Truck Accident in Coffey County, KS

Coffey County, KS — September 13, 2023, Angelo Turner was killed as the result of a truck accident at around 6:00 p.m. along U.S. Highway 75.

Authorities said in their preliminary statements that the incident happened near the U.S. Highway 75 and Interstate 35 interchange between Lebo and Waverly.

According to current information in the news, 51-year-old Angelo Turner was in a Ford Expedition going southbound along U.S. 75. At a truck stop ahead, authorities say that a tractor-trailer was turning across southbound lanes to go northbound. Turner's vehicle then crashed into the tractor-trailer.

As a result of the collision, Turner succumbed to fatal injuries. There were no other reported injuries. In most recent images of a truck stop in the area described above, there does not appear to be any traffic light or stop sign for traffic moving along U.S. 75. Authorities have not officially stated a cause for the crash nor whether or not they're considering charges or citations. Investigations are ongoing.
