Teenager Injured in Single-Vehicle Accident on Rusk Street in Jacksonville, TX

Cherokee County, TX — August 19, 2023, a teenager was injured following a single-vehicle accident at around 2:07 a.m. along East Rusk Street.

Investigations released by the authorities indicate that the crash happened along Rusk Street/U.S. Highway 79 near the intersection of Dogwood Street.

According to initial statements, a 17-year-old boy was in a Cadillac Escalade reportedly traveling eastbound along Rusk Street. It appears that a tire may have blown out, causing the vehicle to lose control and go off the right side of the road. There, the vehicle went through a ditch, over a driveway, and into a stop sign.

The crash resulted in the teenager sustaining injuries described as incapacitating injuries. Authorities did not mention anyone else being involved in the accident. Currently, additional details about the crash cannot be confirmed.
