Jose Samaniego, Cesar Samaniego Killed, Albert Joseph Espree, One Other Injured in 18-Wheeler Accident in Calcasieu Parish, LA

Calcasieu Parish, LA — September 7, 2023, Jose Samaniego and Cesar Samaniego were killed, and Albert Joseph Espree and one other were injured in an 18-wheeler crash at Highway 384 and West Tank Farm Road in Calcasieu Parish, LA.

Authorities indicate that on September 7, a fatal crash occurred when a Honda and an 18-wheeler collided in Calcasieu Parish for unknown reasons. According to reports, the crash happened sometime before 7:00 in the morning.

Investigators say the 18-wheeler was heading east along West Tank Farm Road when it approached the intersection. The Honda, traveling south on Highway 384, went through the same intersection as the truck proceeded from a stop sign. Police say the two vehicles collided, forcing them off the road.

Officials confirmed two Honda occupants, 19-year-old Jose Samaniego and 28-year-old Cesar Samaniego, suffered fatal injuries. The Honda driver sustained moderate injuries. The 18-wheeler driver, Albert Joseph Espree, also reportedly suffered moderate injuries in the crash. No other injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
