Colin Tipton, Katherine Tipton Possibly Injured in Car Accident in Port Aransas, TX

Port Aransas, TX — August 4, 2023, Colin Tipton and Katherine Tipton may have been hurt in an alleged intoxicated driver accident at 5:42 p.m. on Highway 361.

Authorities said in their statements that the incident took place at approximately 5:42 p.m. on Highway 361.

Details suggest that 59-year-old Colin Tipton and 49-year-old Katherine Tipton were in a Toyota Tacoma going southbound along the highway. Their vehicle apparently went onto the shoulder as traffic slowed. From oncoming lanes, it appears a Dodge Ram somehow veered left onto the southbound shoulder where it crashed head-on with the Tiptons' vehicle.

Available details at this time suggest that Colin and Katherin Tipton, along with the driver of the Dodge, may have been injured. No details can be confirmed at this time. Authorities allege that the driver of the Dodge may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. No further information can be reported at this time.
