According to officials, 79-year-old Merilyn Kay Wright was in a Toyota Prius traveling along the interstate. It appears witnesses told authorities they saw a Chevy Tahoe driving "sporadically" before crashing into Wright's vehicle. Both vehicles lost control, causing the Toyota to hit the center barrier and the Chevy to overturn off-road.

Wright was said to have incapacitating injuries as a result of the accident. The driver of the Chevy reportedly had non-incapacitating injuries. Authorities allege that the Tahoe driver had been drinking prior to the accident. No official charges can be confirmed at this time.
