Whitney Gaynell Dorsey Injured in Car Accident in Longview, TX

Longview, TX — August 19, 2023, Whitney Gaynell Dorsey was injured following a car accident at around 1:36 a.m. along Gilmer Road.

Investigators said in preliminary statements that the crash took place in the area of the Gilmer Road/Highway 300 and Vicky Drive intersection.

According to officials, 36-year-old Whitney Gaynell Dorsey and 38-year-old Ted Demarcus McDonald were in a Ford Explorer said to be going northbound along Gilmer Road. The vehicle apparently was in the center turn lane where it somehow veered to the right off-road. There, the vehicle then crashed into a utility pole.

As a result of the collision, Dorsey sustained injuries described by authorities as incapacitating. It's unconfirmed whether or not McDonald had injuries. Right now, additional details about the cause of the accident cannot be confirmed pending investigations.
