Jeffrey E. Cane Killed in 18-Wheeler Accident in Vestavia Hills, AL

Vestavia Hills, AL — September 11, 2023, Jeffrey E. Cane was killed in an 18-wheeler accident on Interstate 459 North at the Liberty Parkway access ramp in Vestavia Hills, AL.

Authorities indicate that on September 11, a fatal accident occurred between a Ford Explorer and an 18-wheeler in Vestavia Hills for unknown reasons. According to reports, the accident happened around 3:40 in the afternoon.

Investigators say the 18-wheeler was traveling along Interstate 459 when suddenly a tire struck the windshield. The truck then reportedly drove off the roadway and burst into flames. Police say the tire had become detached from the Ford Explorer on the interstate.

Officials confirmed the 18-wheeler driver, 42-year-old Jeffrey E. Cane, suffered fatal injuries in the accident.

No other injuries were reported.
