Leonard John Pick Killed, Several Injured in Multi-Vehicle Accident in Roanoke County, VA

Roanoke County, VA — September 9, 2023, Leonard John Pick was killed, and several were injured in a five-vehicle crash on Interstate 81, mile marker 134, in Roanoke County, VA.

Authorities say that on September 9, a fatal crash occurred when five vehicles collided in Roanoke County. According to reports, the crash happened at approximately 10:09 at night.

Investigators say a southbound Ford SUV collided with another Ford SUV traveling in the opposite direction along Interstate 81. Police say the crash caused a Kia and a Nissan to get hit. The Kia was then reportedly struck by a tractor-trailer.

Officials confirmed the Kia driver, 25-year-old Leonard John Pick, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. A Kia passenger was also reportedly severely injured and taken to an area hospital. Police say others sustained injuries, but how many were hurt is unknown. No additional information has been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
