Susana Longoria, Jasmine Jones, Kiara Barker, Chase Mapes Killed, Derrick Wood, 1 Injured in 18-wheeler Accident on I-35W in Fort Worth, TX
UPDATE (September 28, 2023): Details from authorities indicate that 27-year-old Derrick Jonathan Wood was one of the victims injured in the accident. It appears Wood was one of the people outside of their vehicle at the time when the collision occurred. Wood reportedly sustained incapacitating injuries. Other details are pending continued investigations.
UPDATE (September 13, 2023): Public statements now identify two of the victims who were killed in the crash along with Susana Longoria and Jasmine Jones. Those victims were Kiara Barker and Chase Mapes. Right now, the cause is still under investigation.
UPDATE (September 12, 2023): Further information from county officials identifies two of the victims as 31-year-old Susana Longoria and 21-year-old Jasmine Breana Jones. Reports also say a fourth victim succumbed to their injuries on Tuesday. Remaining names have yet to be released to the public.
Fort Worth, TX — September 11, 2023, three people were killed and three were injured following an 18-wheeler accident late Monday on I-35W.
Authorities said in their statements that the crash took place along northbound lanes of the interstate near Berry Street.

According to officials, an initial car accident occurred prior to the fatal collision. After this initial incident, the two drivers involved and one other motorist stopped along the interstate, partially in a lane of travel, according to officials. As the vehicles were there, an 18-wheeler somehow crashed into the stopped vehicles. A second 18-wheeler then reportedly hit the first semi.
As a result of the crash, three people were killed. At least three others were said to have "critical" injuries. Identities are not available at this time, and authorities have yet to report an official cause for the crash. Investigations continue.
