Gloria Collins Killed, 4 Injured in Accident on Martin Luther King Blvd. in Houston, TX

Houston, TX — September 7, 2023, Gloria Collins was killed, and others were injured in a collision with a reportedly stolen vehicle around 10:15 a.m. on Martin Luther King Blvd. in Houston.

Authorities report Ms. Collins's Toyota sedan was sitting at a red light on Martin Luther King Blvd. near the intersection with Van Fleet Street when her car was reportedly rear-ended by a Dodge Charger. The Dodge Charger was allegedly a stolen vehicle that had been fleeing from police at the time of the crash.

The speed limit for Martin Luther King Blvd. is posted as 35 mph, and the speed limit for Van Fleet St. is posted as 30 mph. Officials have not released what speed the stolen vehicle was traveling, how the other victim's were injured, the total number of vehicles involved in the crash, or if any of the vehicles experienced a default leading to worse injuries.
