Lashawnda Cherry Injured in Alleged Drunk Driver Accident in San Jacinto County, TX

San Jacinto County, TX — July 29, 2023, Lashawnda Cherry sustained injuries as the result of an alleged drunk driver accident around 6:09 p.m. along Highway 150.

According to preliminary information about the accident, the crash happened at the intersection of Highway 150 and Farm-to-Market 2693.

Investigators said that 36-year-old Lashawnda Cherry was in a Kia Soul driving eastbound along the highway. At F.M. 2693, it appears that a southbound Chevy pickup went through a stop sign and collided with Cherry's vehicle.

As a result of the accident, details say that Cherry had non-incapacitating injuries following the crash. The other driver apparently was not hurt. That driver, unidentified at this time, allegedly registered at a .218 BAC following the crash. There was a reported recommendation for an intoxication assault charge. Official details about possible charges are unconfirmed right now.
